Alright  - nothing like a funky cool sale to get my blog started again... Those of you who know me personally know I might have an excuse or two for why i have been away for a few months... All i will say- is divorce... career change, teenage sons running amuck.. and a broken arm don't  help my creative juices to flow- But it is TIME!  =)   thank you for your patience!


Joanns- by the way  is having an anniversary sale that is kind of cool as well.  August 8- they are having their single sheet paper sale-   16 cents a sheet - oh my goodnes!!  yes!!  That's 6 for 96¢!!!  They have card stock that will rock your socks off if you have a cuttlebug- heck -  even if you don't,  this core'dination paper will rock your socks off!  Give me a ring if you would like to learn how to make simple GORGEOUS cards with this paper...  it's so cool- i cant stand it!!

Joann's on the 9th-  will be having all their  DCWV brand stacks for $7.77...  that's also  an amazing bargain!!!!

TIP FOR THE WEEK! MAKE YOUR OWN DIMENSIONALS AND POP DOTS!!!

DIY-  DO IT YOURSELF!  FOR LESS!  YAY! 

Everyone that paper crafts knows that pop dots  or foam tape in the store is spendy!
Seriously?  You want $6.99 for this?  You could buy it at the dollar store for a buck!  BUT it ONLY COMES IN WHITE!   

If you are popping up colored paper especially black paper items- you do not want a white pop dot- YOU WILL see it!  I make my own foam tape in any color with just a few items you probably already have!

If you have colored foam sheets- You know that fun foam that is used for kids crafts and is super inexpensive in the craft stores?  It comes in individual sheets - packaged in an array of sizes and colors, and sometimes comes with adhesive already on it.  I personally do not care for the tacky-ness of the adhesive backed foam ( it isn't as sticky as I would like).  

Strong tape adhesive such as scor-tape.  (Anyone that knows me and has taken any of my classes on albums and books knows how much i luv this product!  It's an amazing tool! )

With these 2 items  you can make any thickness- any size and any color pop dot- or dimensional  you would like for your card making or scrap-book pages!

TIP FOR THE WEEK!!

First off- I want to remember my BIG BROTHER John!  Today is his Birthday!  I love you and I miss you!!  I am glad God Blessed us with you!    Happy Birthday Cha Cha Cha!!!


recycle and upcycle

There is something very gratifying in making something from nothing..  or not much!

It just happens that upcycling and repurposing is very trendy at the moment!

I was raised to use everything and waste nothing!  Thanks Mom and Dad!  Now  it's cool to do that!  Who woulda thought??   =)

A few things that I like to repurpose-

Clear sturdy plastic that is on the outside of so many things that we buy -  cricut cartridges, battery packs- etc...  This heavy plastic  is perfect for making templates and other awesome things that call for transparency plastic!   Save it!    I keep me plastic in a scrap folder just like I do my scraps!

Cardboard from the back of tablets and note pads!  it's just chipboard!  YAY! Save it all if you have room for it!  I use so so much chipboard for mini albums it seems a shame not to recycle and upcycle that stuff!!

Jars- from candles- they almost always come with lids!  So after the candle has burned down to nothing- wash in hot water- remove the label and wha-lah!  You have a button jar!   Another jar that works great for recycling and upcycling is the ragu jars from the cheese sauce or the alfredo sauce!  Remove the label and wash -  you can embellish them easily! 

Shoe boxes-  can be recovered with scrap paper or wrapping paper to make amazing storage boxes!


Saving items doesnt have to mean you have to a packrat either!  keep it simple  and keep it organized!

You may want to keep your recycled materials in a drawer in your craft room so you have them all together!  You may not have time to get it trimmed and into the folder everytime you have plastic to upcycle- so  put it all in a drawer until you have time to trim it all down to go into your folders!

Hello again!!  It's SUNDAY!  And new ads  for all our scrapping resources are up!   Weekly Ads for my Favorite places to get great deals on embellishments, paper and tools are online and in your Sunday paper!

Hobby Lobby,  Michale's, and   Joann Fabrics and Crafts are the three places I frequent to get deals!  Saving money is important to keep our cost down.  Saving money so we can buy more for less!  Who doesn't want more for less moolah?!?

First off I want to let you know some little things I have learned about these three stores!  Hobby Lobby almost always has a  40% OFF one item coupon each week.  These coupons are in their ads and online and can be printed off easily on your personal printers at home.  Joann's  and Michael's  both honor competitor coupons!  So print more than one so you are able to use them there as well as Hobby Lobby!  Hobby Lobby as far as i know  does not honor competitor coupons! 

MANY items and Tools that we use A LOT  do not go on sale often - so those are the items I buy with my 40% off coupons!  It's painful having to pay full price for anything!  =)

Items that don't typically go on sale at Joann's  is adhesive!  Zip Dry and Scotch Brand Quick Dry adhesive -excellent way to save!  Use your coupons on those items to be sure you maximize your scrapping dollars!
